Established in 1973 by ex-Malayan Railway staff, Emrail began as a small company designing and manufacturing turnouts for Malayan Railway. Over the years, it has gradually developed its work scope to include other areas of railway engineering and construction. It has now become one of the largest private sector railway construction companies in Malaysia, with projects in India and Indonesia, as well as in Malaysia.
Emrail got its big break in 1997 when Malaysia started construction of the first metro networks in Kuala Lumpur in preparation for the 16th Commonwealth Games. Since then, we have successfully delivered over 1,200 kilometres of ballasted and unballasted tracks in the region.
